The Second Exodus (sermon audio: Sunday a.m.)

The challenge of Mark 6 is allowing God to deliver us out of the bondage of our sin. In each of the short stories we find a developing sequel to what God was doing with the children of Israel in the book of Exodus. Deuteronomy 18:15 says there will come another prophet like Moses. This prophet is Jesus, who in Mark 6, would feed the 5000, walk on the water to reveal his glory, and calm the apostles fear by stating, “It is I.” The disciples had been serving and were sent out in the power of the great “I AM.” Meditate on these well known scriptures from a perspective perhaps you have never considered before, and realize God’s on-going mission throughout history is still taking place today - the redeeming work of salvation through His son, Jesus Christ.
